If changing our behavior was a test, we would almost certainly all be doomed in a less than heroic way. In terms of what you value, this blog might be heroic for you. I am hoping that you will find it to be concise, informative, polarizing, and hopeless, depending on the season. The overarching themes will be leadership and behavioral health. We will propagate and offer practical recommendations to offer the most for your three-minute read. You might even be inspired to change your thinking, feeling or behavior. Or at least challenge your own line of thinking. Afterall, our greatest two abilities are the ability to change our heart and mind, and our availability to our friends and family. Both of which should be safeguarded as sacred. I say that as a grateful recovering addict.
We all have experienced change in different ways. Aggressively or passively, we have had shifts in our solar system. How we respond tells a whole different story. The stages of change as I know them are precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance. They all serve as markers in a person’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This model is often referred to in the substance abuse community and I find them extremely useful for H-hour clients on a wider scale. An intersection to assess for all the moving traffic of someone’s life. Especially when leading others attempting to align, sequence, and execute all of the energy at your disposal.
H-hour is symbolic of change. Our tagline, “The moment when…” reinforces this in our daily battles of balancing the heroes, villains, and victims of our story. The term H-hour has military significance and for any seasoned warrior can be symbolic of intense moments in their experience. We don’t want to limit this language to only the Veteran experience as there is too much value in the idea of an hour. Supernatural things become realized in smaller increments with enough consistency and the right focus and attention.
